Open dictate. and follow the setup checklist. You can also go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard, select dictate., then tap dictate. and enable Allow Full Access. Return to the app to grant Microphone and Speech Recognition access.
Open a text field, hold the globe key and select dictate. Tap the microphone button, speak naturally, then stop the recording. The transcription appears in the active text field.
Microphone access lets the app capture speech, and Speech Recognition enables on-device recognition when it is used. Full Access gives the iPhone keyboard the network connection required to send user-initiated audio for online transcription. You can review the data handling details in our Privacy Policy.
Sign in with the same account on both devices. Your Pro access, history, and supported settings sync to that account. If a recent change is missing, confirm the account email, check your connection, and allow a few seconds for sync.
First confirm that dictate. is enabled under Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Then hold the globe key in a text field to select it. Some protected fields, such as password fields, do not allow third-party keyboards.
Open the dictate. app once, complete every item in its setup checklist, and confirm that the device is online. If permissions were denied, re-enable them in iPhone Settings, return to the app, and try again.
